Here are the LAKE videos of the first day of the two day Annual Planning Meeting of Lowndes County Commissioners and staff. Gretchen is back down there today, videoing the rest.
Below are links to each LAKE video of each item, with a very few notes, followed by a LAKE video playlist. See also previous post for the agenda (which was not posted publicly) and a few previous comments.
- Call to Order, Invocation
- Audit
- Financials – Harrison Tillman
- Break talk about North Valdosta Road
-
Unified Land Development Code (ULDC) and Land Use
Video. They seemed unclear on the difference between the ULDC and the Comprehensive Plan, and they had nobody from Planning or Zoning there to assist them.
- SPLOST 8 Potential Items to be included

Consideration of Private Roads
Video. Apparently there are four private roads in dire shape, where emergency vehicles can’t get through, not counting ones in subdivisions or mobile home parks where somebody is responsible for them. Commissioners are considering condemning those four roads to get the rights of way and turning them into county dirt roads. The catch is, who will pay for that?
-
T-SPLOST
Video. They say T-SPLOST requires paying for road rights of way.
- SPLOST 7 Project Update – Chad McLeod
