5. Appointment – Department of Behavioral Health
Video. County Manager Joe Pritchard said to the Commissioners, “You have an information sheet in your packet concerning Ms. Saxon”. As always, the taxpaying and voting public didn’t get to see that sheet.
Commissioner Joyce Evans asked Ms. Saxon to introduce herself, and she said she is a Lowndes County resident and a graduate of Lowndes High School. She works with felony probationers, for the Georgia Department of Community Supervision. Many of them have substance abuse mental health issues, and she helps get them help so they can become better citizens for our community. She’s also on the Lowndes County Commission for Community Health, and the Mental Health Action Team, which gets mental health help into city and county schools.
