Videos: Abandoned Voting @ LCC 2016-05-24

Record low attendance, not record but very short session time, even with a full agenda; at least you can see last month’s last Lowndes County Commission Regular Session in these LAKE videos. They meet again 8:30 AM this morning.

See also the LAKE videos of the May 23rd Work Session. In the May 24th Regular Session, there were still no questions yesterday from Commissioners about that $55,979.00 in two no-bid items.

Commissioner Demarcus Marshall did ask when the the South Regional Joint Development Authority meets. Answer from County Manager Joe Pritchard: he didn’t know; apparently irregularly whenever they feel like it. They appointed Andrea Schruijer and Clay Griner, even though the county’s web page on that Joint Authority says Andrea Schruijer is already on it. They reappointed s Commissioner Joyce Evans to the Southern Georgia Area Agency on Aging.

County Engineer Mike Fletcher said he did “a one-day traffic count” of the Beaver Lane (which previously came up in 2002 and was denied). He asked the Commissioners to decide to hold a public hearing, and they did. County Manager once again said he’d received an annexation request from Hahira for the W. Main St. property and he indicated no grounds for the county to protest. Commissioners voted they had no objections.

There were no Citizens Wishing to Be Heard, and not even the regulars were in the audience. Gretchen was the only non-Commissioner and non-county-employee in the room.
