Col. Ricketts,

It’s good to hear from you.

I wondered during your re-presentation of slides you’d already said the entire VLCIA board had seen at the recent VLCIA biomass event, whether you would provide copies to interested parties, such as those sitting in the room, but you did not at the time.

Considering the increasing amount of public interest in this topic, as evidenced by the attendance and questions at the VLCIA Rainwater Conference Center event, and by recent newspaper activity, probably the public would like to see those press releases directly from the VLCIA’s web site. However, LAKE is always happy to link to relevant material, so if you will please send me the URLs of those press releases as you found them on the web, LAKE will be happy to link to them.

Similarly, if Dr. Teaf’s information is as good as you indicated,

I’m sure the public would like to see it on the VLCIA’s website. If you let me know where they are, LAKE will be happy to link to them on the LAKE web pages, just as for Dr. Sammons’ slides, which have been available for some time now:
http://www.l-a-k-e.org/topics/biomass/save_forum/index.php

LAKE will also link next to Dr. Teaf’s slides the video I took of you presenting them.

I also look forward to seeing on the VLCIA’s website the professional videos the Valdosta city videographer took of the recent VLCIA biomass event. Brad Lofton told me that evening that they would become available there. By the way, who paid for that videography?

Thank you for the invitation to attend further VLCIA meetings; as you heard, several board members already invited me to do so. Unfortunately, according to the VLCIA web site, that was the last one! None are scheduled for next year.

Please let me and the public know when any VLCIA board meetings or other events are scheduled for next year, by placing them on the VLCIA website. If you let me know when they are there, LAKE will be happy to link to that schedule from the LAKE web site.

I look forward to attending future VLCIA board meetings and other events, and I will encourage other people to do so as well.

Incidentally, unlike the Lowndes County Commission and most of the local city governments, the VLCIA has no email addresses on its website for its board members. Could you add those? I have copied the board members whose addresses I know.

I have posted the present correspondence with the tax-funded VLCIA to the LAKE blog. I’ve also copied the editor of the Valdosta Daily Times.

Thanks again,
-jsq
John S. Quarterman

PS: If VLCIA is having difficulties maintaining or updating their website, I’d be happy to inquire around about finding someone you could hire to help you.
